Mack John:
Mack John is a Portland, OR-based singer-songwriter with a voice as intimate and powerful as the stories she tells. Her songs are poignant, vulnerable, and playful, and provide a haven for listeners seeking refuge from societal expectations and an invitation to embrace their authentic selves. Through her music, Mack encourages her listeners to explore their own inner landscapes, to find the beauty in the everyday moments, and to celebrate the imperfections that make us unique. Her songs are a reminder that even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, there is still magic to be found in the world around us.
Gabe Larson:
Singer-songwriter Gabe Larson is the artistic gravity behind Waldemar, a heartland indie rock band (think The War on Drugs and The National with a dash of Willie Nelson), based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Waldemar combines soaring vocals and poignant, confessional lyrics against a dense backdrop of sweeping guitar tapestries and synth textures to deliver a sonic freight train of an album. The new record Ruthless is a journeyman musician’s fixation, the renegade harmonies of a blue-collar poet.
Andie Wyne:
Andie Wyne, an EC native and down-to-earth musician and songwriter, captures her emotional reflections on life in a mix of soft rock, folk, and classical sounds. For her, music is like meditation; “Music is the present moment, a place to rest, a place to connect with, affect, and help others. That’s a huge reason why I find writing and performing so fulfilling.” Whether playing music herself, collaborating with other musicians, or listening to some of her favorites, Adrianne Lenker and Billie Marten, she is grateful for the ways that music settles her, moves her, and flows through her. Ben Ostertag is a drummer turned songwriter currently based in Eau Claire as he completes his studies in marketing. His hometown (Burnsville, MN) allowed him many opportunities to play and learn about music with others. His time in Eau Claire sent him on a new adventure of creative exploration and eventually the creation of his current band, The Clearwaters – this is where his story continues.
