Join us on The Lakely Patio for Tiki Night – an evening of island-themed drinks, music, decor and fun!
“I always say, Tiki drinks are a vacation in a glass. That’s a huge part of why I love to make them and is the backbone of my ideology to mixology. I don’t just want to make amazing cocktails. I want to evoke feeling out of every sip.” – Miles, The Lakely’s Tiki Master
Modern Tiki culture originated in the early 1930’s and was further amplified after WWII when thousands of US soldiers, having experienced Polynesian culture first hand, came back after the war. It’s a longing for relaxed vibes, good times, and a way to escape the 9-5 grind of the week that’s idealized in a lot of Hawaiian, Polynesian, and Oceanic culture. As it gained in popularity, more influences from the Caribbean and around the world were blended into the theme. When you walk into an amazing Tiki bar you are instantly transported to another realm. The decor, ambiance, and music bring you to an island afar. The potent drinks help to melt time away. You slip into the moment, and even if it’s only for a brief evening, the tropical respite was a memory to hold onto to get you through the next week.
