Fireside Tunes offers listeners a well-rounded sound, with occasional notes of indie, rock, and other musical genres.

Fireside Tunes is held on select Wednesdays throughout the summer and autumn on The Lakely Patio from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. In the event of inclement weather, Fireside Tunes will move inside to The Lakely Stage. This event is free to attend, but please come thirsty!

BIO:

Ryan Burns is a Chicago-based indie folk musician with a distinctive sound and captivating songwriting. Born and raised in towns around the Midwest, Ryan was always surrounded by music. He grew up listening to a wide range of artists, from classic folk singers John Prine and Paul Simon to indie rock acts like Wilco and Fleet Foxes.

Ryan’s music is a reflection of his diverse musical influences and his love for poetry and storytelling. His lyrics are both introspective and observational, exploring the world he sees around him and all its intimacy, joy, and sorrow. He combines intricate guitar and banjo work with shifting arrangements and his soulful voice to make a whole that’s alternately driving and comforting.

Since 2019, Ryan has released an EP and full-length album, building a loyal fan base in Chicago and beyond. He has also performed at some of the city’s most iconic music venues, including the Metro and House of Blues. Ryan’s live shows are known for their raw energy and emotional intensity, leaving audiences spellbound.

In addition to his own music, Ryan also plays with the Australian singer-songwriter Tom West, and Chicago bands Distant Brothers, Cat Mullins and the Holy Lonesome, and Musichigan.

With his unique sound and powerful message, Ryan Burns is poised to make a big impact on the indie folk scene and beyond.

At Fireside Tunes, you can expect an emotive musical experience of local, regional, and occasionally touring artists with a strong lean towards acoustic, folk, and Americana styles. Fireside Tunes offers listeners a well-rounded sound, with occasional notes of indie, rock, and other musical genres.

Matt Wahl is a performing songwriter from Eau Claire, WI and a lifelong musician. He has released 7 CDs of original music in a genre best described as, “Fun-Loving, Sunny-Day, Acoustic Music” and has traveled throughout the country playing in a wide variety of venues. Matt’s live shows feature vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica and an occasional ukulele. Recently, Matt has added the piano to his musical repertoire playing some of his original music and a few piano favorites.

Returning to The Lakely Patio is everyone’s favorite patio performance, dubbed Fireside Tunes, is meant to capture the essence of some of our most-loved experiences – spending the evening outside on The Patio with folks we care about, listening to live music in a down-to-earth, low-key (but high-vibe) atmosphere, sipping craft drinks, and sharing a love of music – all around our stone-cut fire pits.

Barstool Bandit is a dynamic, Minneapolis-based, acoustically driven group ready to bring old and new tunes to the party! We take any song and add our style, voices, and flare to bring together a cool mixed bag of set lists

Returning to The Lakely Patio is everyone’s favorite patio performance, dubbed Fireside Tunes, is meant to capture the essence of some of our most-loved experiences – spending the evening outside on The Patio with folks we care about, listening to live music in a down-to-earth, low-key (but high-vibe) atmosphere, sipping craft drinks, and sharing a love of music – all around our stone-cut fire pits.

Come and enjoy an inspiring performance of original music with Songa. Singer/Songwriters and lifelong musicians Mario and Sherry Friedel will take you on a journey with their unique instrumental sound and soothing vocal blend. Their newest EP, released in 2022, Sunshine in the Rain, includes songs of hope and resilience with a message of love. Their 2020 Nashville produced album, Dreams Are in the Making, shows Songa’s true Americana artistry, with authentic songs in the folk, blues and country genres, mixed in with folk-grass and Latin jazz for variety.

Multi-instrumentalists playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, melodica and percussion, these artists will take you from folk to country, bluegrass to blues to Latin jazz and back again. Rooted in the Nashville songwriting tradition, you won’t want to miss their honest lyrics and pure vocal harmonies. Songa was a finalist in the 2020 and 2022 Great River Folk Festival Songwriting Contests and voted the “fan favorite” in 2020. A 2021 compilation of 7 of Mario’s songs arranged by Tom Washatka (Steel Moon Records) for Big Band Jazz in Janet Planet’s “Under the Venus Moon” was recognized on the Grammy Ballot 2021 under the category Best Vocal Jazz Album.

Mario, originally from Fond du Lac, was produced and published by Buzz Cason, Creative Workshop Studio, Nashville, TN and signed to Universal Records in 1971 as a member of White Duck, Jimmy Buffet’s first Coral Reefer Band, alongside legendary Americana artist John Hiatt. Sherry is a lifelong music educator and church music director.
